Bloom into Kindergarten Session 1

Service Description

Give your child a confident start to kindergarten in a small, teacher-led summer camp designed to make the transition exciting, not overwhelming. Each camp runs Monday-Thursday. Bloom into Kindergarten helps children build the confidence, independence, and executive functioning skills that lay the foundation for a successful start to school. Through engaging, hands-on experiences, children practice following routines, making friends, solving problems, working independently, participating in a group, and developing the everyday skills they'll use throughout kindergarten. Designed by an experienced kindergarten teacher, this camp focuses on the skills that matter most during those first weeks of school, not by rushing academics, but by helping children feel prepared, capable, and excited to learn. Families will also receive practical tips and guidance on what to expect in kindergarten, along with simple ways to continue supporting their child's growth at home. Camp includes: -Kindergarten classroom routines and expectations -Practicing daily transitions between activities -Lunchroom routines, cafeteria expectations, and independence -Building confidence, friendships, and social skills -Executive functioning and self-regulation -Learning to use and care for classroom tools and materials -Fine motor development and school readiness activities -Literacy and math through engaging, hands-on games -Problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork -Outdoor play, movement, and learning through exploration Led by Katie Bloomquist, a licensed teacher with more than 16 years of experience working with children from preschool through high school.
